As we approach the end of September, it's time to reflect on the notable achievements and contributions of Laytons ETL over the past month. From hikes, to promotions and new starters, it’s been an incredible month!
September was an active month for a few members of our team.
On 2nd September, John Abbott began his trek across Spain, as he took on the Camino De Santiago hike in support of The Alzheimer’s Society. 253.5 miles, 540,871 steps and 20 hotel rooms later, John reached his finish point in Santiago de Compostela on 19th September. Throughout the challenge, which he has described as ‘the experience of a lifetime’, John raised a tremendous £10,504 (£9,004 through Just Giving and £1,500 by direct donation) for The Alzheimer’s Society, as well as making several friends for life along the way! There’s still a chance to donate here.
Monica Innis took part in the annual Shine Night Time Walk for Cancer Research, around London. This year, the 10km walk began and ended at Battersea Park, taking in some of the city’s finest sights. So far, Monica has raised an amazing £559 for Cancer Research - you can find more information and donate here.
Emma Davies competed on the Global Future Champions Tour at the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard (NED). Emma placed in the top ten each day, against strong competition that included a number of top riders with Longines World Rankings.
The Laytons ETL team has been taking leaps inside the office as well…
Priscilla Sam achieved a distinction in her Masters as part of the LPC qualification. The work that went into her result took place whilst she has been working full time, which we think makes this an even more fantastic achievement.
Earlier this month, Megan Webb and Tomos Bliss started their Solicitor training contracts with Laytons ETL. Megan’s first seat is in our Real Estate department, while Tomos is beginning with the Disputes team. Both previously held paralegal rolls with Laytons ETL, and we’re thrilled to be part of the next step in their careers!
We also welcomed Chloe Hay to our team as a Disputes Paralegal. Chloe is an LPC and LLM Graduate from the University of Law, as well as holding a BA in Art and Design from the University of Leeds - she is a great addition to Laytons ETL.
Laytons ETL out and about
Members of our Family Law team attended the Modern Family Show. This was an educational event for members of the LGBTQ+ community to seek guidance and support regarding their options for growing their family.
David Lewis and Shaan Patel attended the Footprints Family Office Property Chapter in Mayfair last week. They both made great connections, and look forward to attending the next one in November!
We joined forces with our ETL GLOBAL UK colleagues at Gerald Edelman to co-host a WalkSafe Event for our teams. This was delivered by former Scotland Yard Detectives, using real world situations past and present, to highlight methods of avoidance, and how to safely defuse and deflect unwanted behaviour for victims and intervention techniques for bystanders.
International insights
Honey Dave travelled to Mumbai, India to attend the MRAP Annual General Meeting for accountants and lawyers. Honey was recently appointed Head of the Laytons ETL India Desk, and the MRAP AGM was a great opportunity to begin sharing her service offerings.
Liza Zucconi, Head of ETL GLOBAL’s Spanish Desk, attended the ETL Spanish National Conference in Zaragoza. She met up with her Spanish colleagues from the network, and was thrilled to make so many new connections from the ETL GLOBAL España network.
It’s fair to say that September has been an exciting month at Laytons ETL! We’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate the achievements across our team, and share our excitement as we enter into October.
