Jeremy is a hugely experienced litigation solicitor, whose main areas of work are commercial litigation, contractual disputes, debt recovery, professional negligence, and shareholder/company and partnership disputes.     

 

His experience includes acting for and against banks, funds and other creditors, fraud claims, regulatory work and judicial review, claims arising from mergers and acquisitions and IT project disputes.  

Much of his work involves critical situations for clients. 

He frequently acts in urgent or emergency situations. He has experience of freezing orders, often where they are on a worldwide basis. 

A significant amount of Jeremy’s cases now and throughout his career involve an international element. He routinely works with overseas clients, law firms and professionals.  

He sees his role as managing situations for clients. He works with in-house counsel and is requested by clients to act in that capacity. Other law firms and lawyers refer matters to him to seek his advice and help.  

Jeremy acts for corporates, multinationals, owner-managed businesses, professional service providers, family offices, insolvency office holders, trustees and individuals. 


Sample cases include: 

  • Dealing with a multijurisdictional fraud claim in the mining sector valued at around US$ 800 million. 

  • Dealing with joint venture disputes in the oil and property development sectors. 

  • Opposing worldwide freezing orders and claims for around £30 million brought by Russian Bank against a Russian guarantor.  

  • Pursuing professional negligence claim for pension scheme trustees against specialist pension advisers for approximately £17 million. 

  • Dealing with shareholder dispute and fraud claims as regards two UK companies alongside parallel claims in East Africa.
